For the Manufacturing Evaluation team in the Manufacturing Analysis and Digitalization department, we are looking for a Data Engineer (f/m/d) to strengthen the DIVE product team at the Salzgitter location.

The central task of this team is the development and operation of a platform for managing and designing data structures from production-related information sources in the steel industry. In the agile process, the team formulates and implements new ways to understand and use data.

Your tasks

• As a data engineer (f/m/d), you will work agilely with around eight employees to implement various projects and support the development and operation of a data platform used across the group.
• The implementations are carried out using modern technologies; if necessary, you will evaluate suitable software and anchor it in the DataOps development process.
• The selection and support of suitable tools for building a data integration platform is also part of the task.
• To operate the platform, you use modern development tools such as "Infrastructure as Code” building pipelines and proven container technologies.
• As a team member, you are involved in the planning, conception, development, implementation, maintenance and support of IT systems.
• You follow future trends and needs for changes regarding the product and its applications.

your profile

• You have successfully completed a degree (university/technical college) in computer science, business informatics or a comparable degree.
• Ideally, you already have practical experience in the data science environment and have a basic understanding of data analysis and operation of modern data environments.
• Experience in using tools from the big data environment as well as modern storage solutions (e.g. Apache Nifi, Kafka, Hive, Spark, Airflow, S3, Hadoop, etc.) is helpful.
• Experience with modern visualization tools such as Microstrategy, Power BI, etc. is also desirable.
• You have a quick comprehension and are not afraid to familiarize yourself with new processes and technologies.
• You are interested in data science and the agile development of data solutions in the area of ​​IoT and Industry 4.0.
• You are characterized by strong communication and teamwork skills as well as an independent, responsible and results-oriented way of working.
• You have fluent German and good English language skills.
